Born in Montreal (Canada), Daniel Berthiaume is a type-setter and multi instrumentalist which is characterized by his musical eclecticism. Raftered guitarist, he also plays keyboards and sings in a multitude of musical styles (rock'n'roll, pop, jazz, blues, folk, Ambient Music, New Age, électronica, etc.). In the Eighties he travelled the whole Quebec territory with various groups of variety while presenting more than 400 concerts of music of covers (Supertramp, Genesis, U2, etc.) and of original compositions. It is during this period that he produces a first record entitled Yellow Street (Dance music) carried out in collaboration with the DJ of international reputation M.C. Mario. He also worked at that time with Allen McCartey (Men Without Hats) Steve Tracey (Loni Gamble, Céline Dion) Luc Phaneuf (Starmania) Yvan Payeur(Cirque du Soleil) and several other speakers of the Montreal's musical area.
He also wrote several music and sound tracks for corporative and advertising films. In the beginning of the Nineties he was attracted by New Age music and quickly became a leader of this style in full expansion. During this period it produces 7 albums, all nominated with the ADISQ awards and seen rewarded for the Felix (Québécois trophy are equivalent to the Grammy's) for the album of the year in the New Age category.
In 94 he created a concept which connects the dance, the music and the spirituality which it names EGO and of which will be born a ballet presented in Montreal at the Gésu theatre, and an album published into 98. He produces 4 albums between 1999 and 2002 including THE 4 ELEMENTS a best of his work.
He wrote the title Agir, Réagir appeared in June 2004 and which is interpreted by Youssou dour, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Daniel Lévy, Faudel, Laam, Khaled and several others within the framework of a humane operation connected to the earthquake of Al Hoceima in Morocco.
